Wisemove AI Solutions Pvt. Ltd. ("we") makes Scoop, a messaging app that reads your conversations to find the tasks people commit to. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

We are the Data Fiduciary for this information under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

The short version

  • We store your messages on our servers. We have to: Scoop works by reading them to find commitments.
  • Scoop is not end-to-end encrypted. Messages are encrypted when stored, but we hold the keys. Anyone telling you otherwise is wrong.
  • Your messages are sent to Anthropic, an AI company outside India, to find tasks in them.
  • We do not keep a copy of your address book.
  • We record the internet address you sign in from, for security. Never against your messages.
  • We never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

What we collect

Your account

Your phone number, and a name if you choose to set one. The phone number is how you sign in and how other people find you. We keep the time you last used the app.

Your messages

The text of every message you send in Scoop, along with who sent it, which conversation it belongs to, when it arrived, who it @-mentions, and which message it replies to.

Messages are encrypted at rest — stored in a scrambled form. We hold the keys to unscramble them, because the AI has to read the words to find a task. This means Scoop is not end-to-end encrypted, and we will not describe it that way.

The tasks we find

A short summary of each commitment, who owes it, who asked, and the words used about timing. These are encrypted the same way as messages.

Your contacts — what we do and do not keep

To show you which of your contacts already use Scoop, the app sends us phone numbers from your address book and we answer which ones have accounts.

We do not store those numbers. We keep only a count of how many were checked and when, to stop somebody using this to harvest our users' phone numbers. We do not keep names from your address book at all.

We do store the people you actually connect with — those you message, share a group with, or invite.

How you use the app

Which conversations exist, who is in them, and how much AI processing your account has used. We do not track your other apps or your browsing.

Your internet address

When you sign in, sign out, change your name, or ask to close your account, we record the internet address (IP address) the request came from, along with the time and a short note about your device.

We do not record it against your messages. Not when you send one, not when you read one. That is a deliberate limit: an address stored against every message would build a picture of where you have been, and Scoop is not going to hold that about you.

An IP address is not your exact location, but it can suggest the town or the network you are using — so we keep it for 180 days and then delete it automatically.

Why we collect it

  • To run the messaging. Delivering a message means storing it until every device has it.
  • To find tasks. This is the product. It cannot work without reading messages.
  • To show you who to message, through the contact check described above.
  • To keep the service working and fair — stopping abuse, and measuring AI usage against your plan.
  • To keep your account safe, and to be able to answer you if you ever tell us "that sign-in wasn't me". This is why we record the internet address you sign in from.
  • To answer a lawful request from an authority entitled to make one. Indian law expects us to be able to.
  • To answer you when you contact support.

We do not use your messages to train AI models, and neither does our AI provider on our behalf.

Sending your messages outside India

To find tasks, we send the contents of your conversations to Anthropic, an AI provider whose servers are outside India. Anthropic processes that text on our instructions and does not use it to train their models.

This is a cross-border transfer of personal data under the DPDP Act. By using Scoop you are agreeing to it. It is not optional: it is how the product works, and if you are not comfortable with it, Scoop is not the right app for you.

Who else sees your data

  • Other people in your conversations, which is the point of a messaging app.
  • Anthropic, as described above.
  • Our hosting and database providers, who store the data on our behalf.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), which delivers your sign-in code. They receive your phone number for that purpose.
  • Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, under a valid order.

We do not sell your data to anybody, ever.

How long we keep it

  • Messages: until you delete them, or until your account is closed.
  • Tasks: about 30 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Contact checks: only a count, cleared regularly.
  • Sign-in codes: minutes.
  • Internet addresses: 180 days, then deleted automatically.

If you stop using Scoop for 180 consecutive days, we may close your account and delete its data. We would rather not hold personal data nobody is using. Where we can reach you, we will try to warn you first.

After an account is closed — by you or through inactivity — we keep the registration record for a further 180 days and then delete it permanently. That record is your phone number, your name and the date you signed up, and nothing else. Indian law requires us to hold it for that period after cancellation; during it the record is kept apart from the running app and used for nothing except answering a lawful request.

Everything else goes at closure: your profile stops being visible, you are signed out everywhere, and the tasks found in your messages are deleted. The messages you sent stay in the conversations you sent them to, with your name removed — see the Terms of Service for why.

Where your data is stored

Your account, your messages and the tasks found in them are stored on servers in India.

The one exception is described above: to find tasks, the text of your messages is sent to Anthropic, whose servers are outside India. That is the only part of your data that leaves the country.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you,
  • correct anything that is wrong,
  • delete your data and your account,
  • explain who we have shared it with.

To delete your account, open You → Close account in the app. We will send a code to your number first, so nobody else can do it for you.

For anything else, write to support@wisemove.ai from the phone number on your account and we will respond.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

Scoop is not for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security

Messages and tasks are encrypted at rest with per-conversation keys. Sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes. Access to production data is limited to people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

Changes

We will update this policy as Scoop changes. The version and date at the top always tell you which one you are reading. Significant changes will be brought to your attention in the app.
